Pick of the Week: Green City Workshop
Find out what’s on Rife Guide this week, including a free craft workshop.
It’s October, and Autumn is definitely on its way. The evenings are getting darker, and our woolly jumpers, hats and scarves are all making their way out from where they’ve been nesting at the back of the wardrobe. Now is the time to get involved in some nice, warm, indoor activities – and luckily the Family Arts Festival has some great events happening throughout October.
On Saturday, make your way over to Junction 3 Library, in Baptist Mills near Easton, for a creative workshop run by the Architecture Centre. Their expert creative staff will be on hand to help you make whatever creations that your brain can make up – from painting to sculpture to collage. All the materials will be provided for you – you just need to turn up and apply your creative skills.
This is just one event of a programme of special things happening for the Family Arts Festival throughout October. This is a national festival encouraging people of all ages to get involved in the arts – and in Bristol there are some really great things happening, from specially designed theatre performances, to film screenings and events at Bristol’s Museums. The festival culminates in a whole week of amazing activities during half term.
It’s free to attend this session, although if you’re under 16 you’ll need to bring an adult with you. Can’t make the session in Easton this week? Don’t worry! There’s another workshop happening the weekend after, at Lawrence Weston Community Farm. Full details of the Green City Workshops can be found here, on the Rife Guide.
We want to see your amazing arty creations from the workshop! Show us what you made by tagging us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. Or just tell us what else you’ve been up to during Bristol’s year as Green Capital.
