Pick of the Week: Young Artists Rising
Find out what’s on the Rife Guide this week, including a free exhibition featuring the work of talented young artists.
Are you a bit of a culture vulture? Fancy yourself as someone who can always spot the next big thing before it happens? (Perhaps you were the genius who registered KanyeForPresident.com three months ago?)
Here’s the chance to be ahead of the curve when it comes to talent-spotting in Bristol. An incredible bunch of young people aged 16-25 have been selected to have their own exhibition at Spike Island, which is running all week. They’ve created art on the subject of ‘The Politics of Representation’ – focusing on the positive and negative stereotypes that being young carries, and why these representations are (or aren’t) important to all young people.
The exhibition is on until 16th September, and features all sorts of different artwork. There’s something that everyone will find interesting – whether it’s the art itself, or the background issues that the exhibition focuses on.
The gallery is open from 12-5pm every day except Mondays. It’s free to look around this exhibition, and all of the other exhibitions happening at Spike Island. Full details can be found here, on the Rife Guide.
