Pick of the Week: ‘A Thousand Dreadful Things’
Discover what’s happening on the Rife Guide this week, including an immersive experience of Shakespeare unlike any other.
Shakespeare you say? Haven’t I had enough of him at school already? Well, throw away your misconceptions and reservations, and spend an evening with Shakespeare’s most deviously and dastardly villains, brought to life in this contemporary exploration of the darkest elements of the The Bard’s human creations.

That tend on mortal thoughts’.
You have been summoned, to follow the anti-heroes trip filled with drudgery and toil through lies; murder; tyranny; adultery; theft; madness; torture; genocide – all in the quest for power.
Following the critical and commercial success of last Christmas’s Cinderella, Creative Youth Network is proud to bring you a multi-art form show that will take you on a sensory journey. Featuring theatre, dance, 3D soundscapes and film; A Thousand Dreadful Things promises to be an immersive experience of Shakespeare unlike any other.
Creative Youth Network helps young people reach their potential, by building lasting, secure relationships with them based on trust and their own unique needs. They provide support for creative expression through their ambitious arts programs and help young people find careers in the creative industries.
A thousand dreadful things isn’t the only event at The Station- there are so many to check out. You can learn how to tell the stories of your world and create a podcast or radio programme at Sound Stories, join group Welcome Wednesday’s- a weekly group for refugees and asylum seekers, or you can just head there for a Saturday Chill– experience music, film and fancy dress. As with every session from Creative Youth Network, it’s run by professional youth workers. You can talk to them confidentially about anything, and they’ll give you as much support as they can.
A Thousand Dreadful Things is happening Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. It starts at 7.30pm at The Station. Full priced tickets are £8 and concessions are £5….
