Fran is a 21-year-old graduate from Bristol University with a degree in English Literature and Classical Studies. During her time at university, she helped to run the university’s societies for English PEN and Amnesty International, as well as becoming Senior Editor for That’s What She Said Magazine (the university’s intersectional feminist publication) in her third year. She’s had both creative and informational pieces of writing published on a number of platforms, including, most recently, The Guardian.
Her interests revolve around humanitarian and gender issues (particularly with reference to classical culture and its relationship with the modern world), and next autumn she’ll be starting an MSc in Culture and Society Studies at LSE, with the hope of furthering her understanding of these issues for a future career in political journalism or charity work.
She also enjoys writing fiction and poetry, reading work by writers like Jeanette Winterson and Derek Walcott, singing badly along to Japanese Breakfast and obsessing over the length of her fringe.
