Wordless Wonders
Until Sun 20 April
To celebrate the release of the Oscar®-winning Flow, we're taking you on a journey of family-friendly films that need no words yet speak for themselves...
Whether you’re diving into the dialogue-free tropics of Studio Ghibli’s The Red Turtle, or following the surreal adventures of a marooned boy in Flow director Gints Zilbalodis’ mesmerising first film Away, there’s something for all ages in this Easter holiday season.
We’re also bringing back last year’s hit Robot Dreams – a rich and colourful buddy comedy about an unlikely friendship between a dog and his new robot. Also suitable for little ones is the charming comedy Minuscule: The Valley of the Lost Ants, blending live action with its animated cast of bugs and mini-beasts.
For the slightly older kids, we have the delightful animated feature The Triplets of Belleville, on an original 35mm film print, no less, described by Little White Lies as ‘a fine primer to French cinema’.
We’re also screening a couple of playful selections of short films from our friends at Dundee Contemporary Art’s Discovery Film Festival – one for Wee Ones (3+) and one for slightly older kids (8+).
Upcoming screenings in this season
