This autumn, twelve exceptional Digital Producers will join Watershed and National Theatre Wales to participate in a new programme that fosters digital talent, and aims to catalyse development of creative technology projects in Wales.Supported by Arts Council Wales, Watershed’s Digital Producers Lab is the first programme of its kind to take place in the country. It aims to train a brilliant cohort of Digital Producers, who will go on to support each other, create new business opportunities and enable audiences to enjoy extraordinary new cultural experiences.

Bristol artist unveils sculpture of young girl at Temple Meads

An intriguing experimental sculpture of a young girl standing alone and gazing at her mobile phone was installed on Platform 3 at Bristol's Temple Meads Station on Thu 25 July.‘Maya’ is a unique three-dimensional pixelated portrait created by Bristol-based internationally renowned artist, Luke Jerram. From a distance, the sculpture is clear to see but as you move closer, it disconcertingly appears to fragment into cubes.

Gromit unleashes a dog film season at Watershed

 It's dogs a-go-go at Watershed this summer!The whole of Bristol and beyond has gone barking mad for Gromit Unleashed, the trail of 80, five foot tall sculptures across Bristol and further afield, and Watershed just couldn’t let the event go by without hosting Gromit’s Movie Marvels, a month long season of films featuring man’s best friend this August.

Hello Lamp Post is live!

From today and for the rest of the summer, Bristol residents and visitors can spark up conversations with the city, using any mobile phone (no smart phone required). As the first commission of Bristol’s Playable City Award produced by Watershed, Hello Lamp Post invites you to try a new way of communicating through lamp posts, post boxes and other familiar street furniture, by texting the unique codes found on each object.Clare Reddington, Director of the Pervasive Media Studio says:

Following the magical happenings of last week when we interviewed for a Magician in Residence we are delighted to announce that with a little bit of jiggery pokery and mystical manoeuvers we now have two magicians joining us! Kieron Kirkland and Stuart Nolan will be exploring creative ideas that blend technology, interaction design, magic and illusion at Watershed and the University of Bristol.
