She is widely remembered for her comedic roles, but Whoopi Goldberg stunned audiences with her authentic recreation of Ms Sealey in the film version of the Alice Walker classic The Color Purple. Before Eddie Murphy, or Chris Rock, there was Richard Pryor. Pryor understood the power of comedy to say the unsayable about race, sex, class and Blue Collar is one of his earlier, less known, works which displays the actor in one of his more versatile roles.
