India has one of the world’s richest and most prolific film industries and histories. This year’s edition of Cinema Rediscovered includes a selection of special events putting the spotlight on Indian filmmaking and archive films about India including the UK launch of one of Satyajit Ray's most exquisite films, The Music Room, and a newly digitised BFI collection of films shot in pre-independence India with live accompaniment.

Presented with South West Screen, Bristol Record Archives and Asian Arts Agency, launching a year round series of events as part of India on Film, a British Film Institute season, part of UK/India 2017, a major cultural collaboration between the two countries in collaboration with The British Council.
