Depict is Watershed’s super-short filmmaking competition which we run as part of Encounters Film Festival. Committed to uncovering emerging filmmaking talent, we're looking for mini-masterpieces - wherever you are, whatever your genre, whatever your budget - as long as it's 90 seconds or long submit it for free before 4 June.
Our archive contains a selection of mini-masterpieces of incredible originality and fantastic imagination from filmmakers often at early stages in their career. Here are some to tickle your fancy and maybe inspire you to make one for this year's competition:
- Nuraiyah (Dir: Khevyn Ibrahim, UK, 2018) A wonderfully uplifting portrait of life through a 7 year old girl’s eyes
- Absence (Dir: Alex Goddard, UK, 2019) A story of heartbreak and a big snake
- Head Over Heels (Dir: Leonid Grigurko, Russia, 2018) An earth girl experiences and unearthly dream in the confines of her bedroom
- Unsung Hero (Dir: Vinamra Pancharia, India, 2018) A little boy loses his yellow ball but finds buried hope
