Watershed Recommends: Fri 10 - Thu 16 April

Season

Please note : this season finished in April 2020

A selection of films and events recommended by the Watershed team for week commencing Fri 10 April.

Our Cinema Curator Mark Cosgrove talks about his film recommendations in particular:

I don’t know about you but in this new normal existence of self isolation I find film to be all pervasive. There has never been so much to choose from and so many places to seek films out whether its broadcast, on demand, online or long unwatched blu-ray on your shelf. Now, let’s be clear - it is NOT Cinema! - that’s a very special experience and one we shall get back to as soon as the time is right.
In the meantime we have been working in partnership with a range of regular collaborators to keep independent and world film very much alive and present in these strange days. We already have promotional arrangements with online platform MUBI and Curzon Home Cinema where you can catch up with films that we were planning to show at Watershed like Kore-Eda’s The Truth and Lorcan Finnegan’s Vivarium.
The most recent partnership is with the BFI who have given us access to their player catalogue to curate a selection of films specifically for Watershed audiences. All the films have connections with Watershed in one shape or another which we will be talking about in the weeks ahead.
