Award-winning classic indie comedy directed by the talented Jamie Babbitt (But I'm A Cheerleader) this is a rom com about queer feminist radicals reclaiming the streets for grrrls everywhere!
Anna (Melonie Diaz) lives a mundane life, aimlessly working as a receptionist, worrying that her future is empty. That is until a radical lesbian Sadie (Nicole Vicus) opens her eyes to what’s really going on!Sadie is the leader of an eclectic bunch of queer anarchic punk 20-somethings who hit the streets disrupting and vandalising at every opportunity. Creative and political they mean what they say and work hard to get their message across.
With a great cast including Carly Pope, Jimmi Simpson and Daniela Sea and an awesome sound track that includes Bikini Kill, Peaches and Le Tigre, this is a joyful romp of a film that shouts: we are queer - and we got something to say about how the world represents lesbians.
Dress to protest at this screening, political T-shirts are positively encouraged - make your own or dig out an old classic. Let’s have some fun!
