I go to bed with a few drops of Chanel No. 5 and I wake up each morning to a glass of Piper-Heidsieck. It warms me up.
– Marilyn Monroe.
Piper-Heidsieck, est. 1785 and hailing from Reims in the champagne region in France, is the most awarded champagne house of the century. Official supplier to such luminaires as the Cannes Film Festival, the Oscars®, the Berlinale and Jean Paul Gautier, this family owned company continues to evolve, nurtured by its values of craftsmanship, quality and the transmission of French luxury savoir-faire.
Simon Stockton, UK Brand Ambassador for Piper-Heidsieck, has been a champagne specialist for many years and has worked for several producers. Bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience (he’s tasted over 5000 champagnes!) he’ll be discussing this iconic winemaking region along with the story behind this authentic Grand Marque Champagne House.
Join Simon for a relaxed and informal evening of fun and memories and try five of Piper-Heidsieck’s champagnes including the iconic Rare 2002 alongside some carefully chosen canapés. Simon will also be demonstrating the daring Sabrage – which involves the dramatic use of a sabre to open the bottle - a skill in which Cameron Diaz is an apparent expert. Let’s just hope it goes better than this guy’s attempt…
