Queer Vision presents Facets
Please note : this season finished in July 2016
As part of Bristol Pride Festival, Queer Vision is proud to present a fantastic programme of feature film gems that reflect the many facets of the LGBT community’s diverse and superbly rich culture.
Including Poppy Stockell’s engaging documentary Scrum (Sat 2 July 18:00) which examines notions of masculinity and sexuality, brotherhood and acceptance, whilst tackling head on the issue of homophobia in sport; Peace of Mind (Sun 3 July 15:00), a fascinating portrait of the late transmale filmmaker Flo McGarrell that’s a stirring meditation on collaboration, longing and loss; the raucous, lo-fi, high-camp comedy adventure that is Bitte Andersson’s Dyke Hard (Sun 3 July 18:00); the inspirational coming-of-age love story which sees a young Indian student afflicted with cerebral palsy fall for a fiery young female activist in Margarita With A Straw (Tue 5 July 20:10); and Mark Christopher’s newly resurrected gay cult-classic 54 (Fri 8 July 20:40) with its tales of glorious hedonistic revelry amongst an underground utopia of the sexually liberated.
Come and get swept away in the triumph, tenderness, fun and flamboyance!
