Through the support of the Bursary Luke and his team of specialists built upon scientific research they have carried out at University of the West of England. The Dream Director affects the dreaming content of a participant as they sleep. Luke explored how the Dream Director could be developed to form a multi-user interactive installation, delivering an artistic experience to members of the public as they sleep within a gallery. Experimental events were held at Watershed and Arnolfini to test the device out and explore the artistic possibilities. Supported and managed by Watershed in Bristol, the Bursary is associated with the Situations programme at UWE, which sets the commissioning of new artworks within the context of international research. Luke's development was supported within this critical framework. |
