Steve Haley ran the Vision Factory
on Zetland Road in Redland and was a video and film maker who provided Bristol’s musical luminaries with many visual
backdrops. He made video’s for Smith and Mighty, Mark Stewart, Fresh
Four, Gary Clail, Carlton and Massive Attack as well as many others.
Steve also promoted some great and memorable parties in Bristol including the infamous 'Apres Ski' party in an old snooker hall on Colston Street where Tricky and Mark Stewart first played a live version of the track that would become Tricky’s debut single `Aftermath’. Steve also became the manager of 'Monk and Canatella' and saw them through some ferocious twists and turns in a major deal with Telstar Records (check out the video!). Steve Haley is one of the important characters of the Bristol milieu and someone who has been a part of many different projects over the years. |
