1. Media Sandbox Project Update
Constance Fleuriot presents at a Work in Progress event.
Working under two project strands B-Open and Pervasive Experiences, our seven groups are all getting to a very exciting stage as the projects develop.
Moksha are trialing materials for their tactile qualities and capacity to hold scent, whilst nu desine are having a similarly tangible time playing with their first prototypes.
Delib are evaluating what they've learnt so far in the R&D process, Mutant Labs have leapt forward with development and this week created a series of prototype mini-games. You can see participants collaboratively testing the games here:
Meanwhile, Overlay Media have continued development of Hills Are Evil, Remode have integrated a heart-rate monitor with the C++ game engine and are considering their next step, and after considering the options, Mobile Pie have chosen a mapping system for Blossom Bristol players.
Our next update will be in January, but remember you can follow our progress in the meantime by checking the Project Journals regularly. You can also read full Project Overviews here:http://www.mediasandbox.co.uk/2010-commissions/
2. Upcoming events
Change of Date:
The Media Sandbox Final Showcase will now take place on the 18th February, please amend the date in your diaries.
Join us to celebrate the pioneering Media Sandbox scheme at the end of it's third year. In September 2010, seven companies were commissioned to develop projects under two strands, B-Open and Pervasive Experiences. This event will feature video documentation of the seven projects; reflections on successes and key areas of learning; and panel debates with practitioners and advisory board members. This will be followed by drinks, a chance to try out project demos and informally network with participants.
Booking details coming soon.
Group discussion with Mutant Labs and Moksha at the Design Dimensions event.
