As a follow up to the gopping exercise of Wednesday the 28th, we decided to take a more direct approach and quiz our target audience in an attempt to uncover the ways we're likely to use our phones in the future. It wasn't a task for the lighthearted and a certain amount of the truth serum was required to get to the 'good stuff' but after a long hard night of dedicated field research we can confidently report that female physiotherapists don't know how to use mobile phones.
But on a serious note, it seems there is quite a resistance to using mobiles for anything other than texting and phoning. We promised them a world of engaging, content rich, customisable applications for their phones with auto-update functionality, cross platform synchronicity, base level interface protocols and behaviour learning software. Much to our disappointment we were met with blank stares and, caught up in the reverie of our technological magnificence, had managed to alienate the entire pub. However, the inhabitants of turbo island were far more interested in our future-speak and accepted us with open arms…
In summary - if we want to empower and mobilise the general public, technophobes and savvy whizz-kids alike, we must
KEEP IT SIMPLE, STUPID.
