Harmonize Executive Producer Hazel Grian has worked as a director, writer and performer in film, animation, radio, and street theatre; and worked on a number of cross-platform entertainment projects such as Bebo's Bafta nominated online drama, KateModern. Hazel is currently Assistant Creative Director at Aardman Digital.

Harmonize

Harmonize was an alternate reality game - a site-specific collaborative team game that explored behavioural dynamics of play across physical and virtual worlds.

An alternate reality game is an interactive narrative that uses the real world as a platform and involves media and game elements to tell a story that is affected by participants' ideas or actions. Inspired by cult 80’s kids TV show ‘Knightmare’ and the online/Real-life cross-over of Blast Theory’s ‘Can you see me now,’ Harmonise explored how teams could be encouraged to work together, harmonising their virtual and physical actions to overcome the challenges of their environment.

Intro-An old man called the Dream Keeper explains how and why some dreams have escaped from the real world. He managed to freeze them in place for 45 minutes and build the technology to locate and trap them but unfortunately he can’t get into our world to trap them. He asks the players to help him retrieve the dreams. But before they do they need to get into a meditation state of 5 minutes because they need to be ‘semi-asleep’. The room in the watershed is our version of a flux capacitor.
