Company Profile

C6 create invasive works of art using an eclectic range of media from software to spray paint. They also produce events focusing on the street gallery, fashion ranges, publishing and Vjing.

Steal From Work is a 3 strong artist run co-operative, whose projects invigorate Bristol’s art scene. Influenced by East Berlin's DIY ethos, they do things with a sense of purpose, a sense of fun, and a sense of need.

Street Art Dealer is a system where works of art can be bought from specific street locations via a mobile phone using a QR code.

For decades, street art has been developed in the street for a street audience, but things are changing. A growing public interest has encouraged a re-sale industry facilitated by galleries and auction houses. Street Art Dealer puts control back in the hands of the artists by minimising the layers of commerce between artist and buyer. The project also promotes engagement with the meaning of art in the context of the environment.

street art dealer launch update

We now have a full list of artists that we will be showcasing in various ways to launch street art dealer in Bristol. The exhibition will be focused mainly on an installation provided by Joseph Watts and Haywood slucutt. Joe coming from a fine art sculpture background and woody(haywood) design the boys have come up with a interactive installation that we feel both accommodates the nature of the QR code whilst also focusing on it's viability in a multitude of representations. Combining this with street based works will in theory launch the nature of the technology to a broader audience.

Having a beta release of Street Art Dealer online has helped a great deal in generating feedback and ideas for the project.  We now need to raise awareness of the project and the technology involved as well as make the service more usable and acceptable to artists and consumers. There are a number of key topics that need particular attention.
