Not many people can shimmy up a rope, give it a few twists and then sit – silent and poised. Ramesh Mayyappan can, and once there he can also create of what we, the audience, might see if we were up there too, within the world of his piece Skewered Snails.
Ramesh is a stunning mime – able to create magic with his hands, body and face. I’ve seen him many times, but always previously with both feet on the ground. Over the last two years Ramesh has been perfecting his ariel skills, specifically rope work, so he can now take his brand of physical theatre to new heights, literally.
