Politics. Understand a word of it?
Want to know what Adibah Iqbal asked Sajid Javid (Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport) at the ‘culture for all’ speech at St George’s in Bristol today?
My question: “There are great opportunities in Bristol for young people. But how are you going to reach those in marginalised communities? Are these opportunities visible for marginalised communities, such as the working class, ethnic minorities, girls and women?”
The response…
Well guys, I would give you the response, but to be honest, I didn’t understand a word of it.
Have you ever felt the same? Hearing a MP speak about youth issues and how to engage young people, and not understanding a word of it. Is it just me, or do you think that maybe if an MP is trying to engage young people from marginalised communities, they should speak a language that they can understand?
What are your thoughts…?
