Imagine growing up, dreaming of playing music, and finding yourself years later performing at a festival that’s practically on your old front doorstep. That’s what happened to New York Transit Authority when he played at Love Saves The Day this year.
Despite the name, New York Transit Authority is Bristol-bred.
It’s June, which means summer, official season of festivals, is truly upon us. Last bank holiday set the vibe for a great festival season with Love Saves The Day. The weather was nice, the outfits were on point, and the line up was incredible. And it all went on in little old Bristol. We caught up with New York Transit Authority ahead of the festival to talk about the Bristol music scene.
bass music with an eighties electro kind of throwback feel
Despite the name, New York Transit Authority is Bristol-bred. He’s a local DJ and producer who described his sound as ‘bass music with an eighties electro kind of throwback feel’. ‘This is my worst question ever,’ he said in the interview below. ‘Explaining my music, I can never do it.’
