Pick of the Week: Nocturnal
Find out what’s on Rife Guide this week, including an evening to celebrate the website launch and brand new issue release of Nocturnal.
Nocturnal is a youth-led interactive magazine and platform
Incase you haven’t heard of it already, Nocturnal is a youth-led interactive magazine and platform where people can contribute their work and have their voices heard. Young people can express themselves through the medium of the Arts, and share insights into cultural and social issues. Just have a read, it’s pretty great.
As you can imagine, the magazine has been a resounding success and it’s going to be celebrating the website launch and issue IV release in style. For this spectacular event, you have been invited to step into Nocturnal’s makeshift home for the evening and join in the housewarming.
The evening is jam packed with treats and delights. To set the scene, the night will begin with live performances and spoken word artists. Swiftly followed by a fashion show that’s gonna throw it back in the best way.
This will be a night of exclusives as Nocturnal sees what fashion Label That Thing (formerly Shop Dutty) has in store for 2016. Fawohodie’s will be parading their debut collection that collaborates Ghanaian prints with Western cuts like not other. Finally, Light Work London will be working their fresh to death collection.
To accompany you into the night there will be an array of sounds. Singing and strumming strings will be Eric Sings, listen to the sounds of Solomon O.B’s lyrical rhymes, Rife Mag content creator DJ TONE will taking it back to the 90s, getting you hyped will be ThisIsDA and L u c y has a fresh LP for your ears.
Nocturnal magazine’s editor-in-chief Emma Blake Morsi was named as one of the 24 Influential Bristolians Under 24, and it looks like she’s set to continue on to bigger and better things. Be part of the success and head over to one of the best nights of the year. It’s not to be missed.
The event is tonight from 7pm- 11pm at Goldbrick House on Park Street. Under 18s are welcome but you will need ID for the bar. Tickets are available from Eventbrite and cost £11.74.
