BFI NETWORK South West, in collaboration with Screen Cornwall and Exeter Phoenix, is thrilled to announce the fourth iteration of the Peninsula Producers Network, a development programme designed specifically for new and emerging producers in Devon and Cornwall. This programme is run in parallel with Screen Cornwall’s New Writers Network.

 

Overview

The Peninsula Producers Network offers a unique opportunity for aspiring producers to enhance their skills, expand their industry knowledge and make regional connections.

Participants will benefit from:

Peer support and guidance, building networks.

A series of producing skills workshops, both online and in-person.

Insights into distribution and audience engagement.

Exploration of career pathways in film production.

 

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Peninsula Producers Network, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Residency: Proof of address in Devon or Cornwall is required.

2. Age and Education: Applicants must be over 18 and not in education.

3. Experience: Ideal candidates will have a track record of short film production and be working on a current project. However, we encourage applications from those without current projects, as we are concurrently running the New WritersNetwork and can help make connections.

4. Commitment: Successful applicants are expected to attend all sessions, including travel to Exeter and Cornwall on specified dates.

We recognise our regional voice will be stronger with greater diversity and welcome applications from people with lived experience of backgrounds that are underrepresented in industry.

 

Timeline

Applications open Mon 16th September 2024

Applications close Mon 14th October 2024, 5pm

 

Dates of programme:

Session 1: Thursday 7th November – afternoon / early evening – in person in Cornwall

Session 2: Tuesday 10th December 2024 – online

Session 3: Thursday 16th January 2025 – online or in person in Plymouth TBC

Session 4: Thursday 6th February 2025 – all day pass for events at Exeter Phoenix, Two Short Nights Film Festival. with group session for both PPN and NWN cohorts during the day.

 

Support Available

We understand that participation may involve travel and other commitments. To ensure accessibility, bursaries are available to support travel expenses and childcare costs.

Please be aware that you can only apply for Peninsula Producers Network 2025 or New Writers Network 2025 – applications to join both programmes will not be accepted.
