Leah Rustomjee
Graduating in 2018 with a Liberal Arts BA from King’s College London, Leah was awarded the Film Studies prize for her dissertation, “The Bicultural Gaze in British Asian Cinema”, which explored how diasporic film directors succumbed to Western hegemonic narratives in pursuit of the popular audience. Her first attempt at filmmaking was ‘Guy’s Girl’, a documentary exploring sexism within London’s electronic music scene, which was nominated for Best New Talent at the BFI Future Film Festival in 2018. Since then, she’s worked as a production assistant on a major Bollywood film in Mumbai, a junior researcher for an Al Jazeera documentary and has been commissioned to direct and edit music videos and branded content for companies including Dazed, Mulberry and the National Portrait Gallery.
Shaun Lónyay-Rhodes
After graduating Westminster’s BA in Film and Television Production, Shaun went straight into to producing, landing a role as an in-house producer at a boutique commercials company. He quickly honed in on his technical producing skills for brands like Disney, PlayStation VR and StudioCanal. Post leaving the commercials he spent some time producing music videos for chart topping artists. Whilst in both of these spaces Shaun continued to develop and produce short films knowing that he will come round and achieve his goal of producing film and television. The shorts were featured in festivals such as Aesthetica FF; and winning multiple awards at IRIS Prize FF. Shaun most recently co-produced a Net flix funded short documentary ‘Peach Paradise’, along with BFI Funded ‘Longing’ and 16mm ‘Dog Days’. As well as developing his film and television slate with productions based within the UK and across Europe.
