Guide to Working With Volunteers

A good practice guide, developed by Film Hub South West, to running professional volunteering programmes for both new and existing initiatives.

Film Hub South West recognises that volunteers play a vital role in the film exhibition sector, providing much needed support to film festivals, community cinemas and cross-arts venues.

Volunteers give their time and experience in many different ways, as ushers, Front of House staffers, event-stewards, storytellers, tour guides, archivists and even fundraisers.

Here you will find a range of examples of how organisations draw on volunteers, ‘top tips’ for organisations wishing to attract more volunteers, and recommendations on how to develop volunteer support over the long-term.

For additional information, the National Council for Voluntary Organisations website has lots of useful resources and guidance.
