BFI NETWORK, in partnership with production companies Blak Wave & Little By Little Films, are pleased to present our participants for the New Voices scheme 2021-22. This talent development opportunity aims to help aspiring South West and Midlands based filmmakers looking to develop their five-minute short film idea.
These filmmakers have been selected on the strength of the idea for a short film which they shared with project leads Film Hub South West & Film Hub Midlands, partners Little by Little Films & Blak Wave, and ambassadors Daniel Alexander Films & Deaffest.
Now selected, they will be supported to develop their short film idea into a finished script, which can then be submitted to the BFI NETWORK Short Film Funding in 2022. Between January 2022 and April 2022, the filmmakers below will receive mentoring support, script development sessions, training, introductions to producers, regular 1:1’s, and much more.

Based in South West
Luke is a passionate filmmaker, born and bred in the heart of Bristol. His passion for film derives from his visual learning style. Some people pick up a book, but he will always watch a film. This led him to start filming friends, then clients, and then building a production company. Through watching films so often, he’d question and compare styles and characteristics which has allowed him to create his own style. He is still learning but he hopes one day to be viewed as one of the UK’s best directors/cinematographers.
