2025 has seen a huge variety of films: from the return of Paul Thomas Anderson with One Battle After Another, Ari Aster’s Covid-themed Western Eddington, new films from Spike Lee (Highest 2 Lowest), Bong Joon Ho (Mickey 17) and Kathryn Bigelow (House of Dynamite), Harris Dickinson’s directorial debut Urchin, Laura Carreira’s revelatory On Falling, the raw emotion of Jafar Panahi’s It Was Just an Accident and at least six Josh O’Connor films.
Not to mention the likes of Nickel Boys, Hard Truths, A Complete Unknown, Babygirl and The Brutalist!
