We are excited to announce that BFI NETWORK Short Film Funding has reopened for applications for filmmakers and animators based in the South West of England!
BFI NETWORK South West supports, develops, and champions new filmmakers looking to kick-start their career.
The BFI NETWORK Short Film Fund supports projects with directors based in England, delivered by our local Talent Executives who work directly with the selected funded projects in the South West region.
Have an idea you’d like to see on screen? We want to hear it.
If you are a director* based in the South West you can now apply for up to £15,000 funding for the production costs of fiction short films – in both live-action and animation – of any length up to 15 minutes in length. Directors must not have directed a fiction feature previously distributed in the UK.
Please note that we have made some changes to the way that we manage and assess applications so please read the new guidelines carefully.
We can provide assistance to applicants who are D/deaf, hard-of-hearing, Disabled or neurodiverse people, and people with sight loss, where this support is needed in order for someone to make an application to the Film Fund. Visit Access support for BFI Film Fund applicants for information.
*Producers or writers attached to the project can be based anywhere in the UK
