Nomos recently accompanied Radio in Schools to the National Education Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
We were there to provide technical support, but also to turn on the charm and help promote the software to some of the 30,000 or so teachers and industry representatives that rocked up for 3-day event.
I think its fair to say the end result was very positive, despite a slightly shaky technical start (note to any would-be-exhibitors: wireless networks [even ad-hoc networks] at the NEC might seem like a good idea - but trust us, they're not!)
There were three of us working the stand, along with a couple of Heart *Angels* from the Birmingham Heart Radio giving out competition flyers. Between us we managed a pretty much non-stop flow of visitors. Some were casual passers-by, attracted by our neon lights and ominous shop front (our funky video and cardboard signs, that is). Some others had come specifically to see us, which was nice.
In the end we signed up an impressive number of schools, and also made contacts with representatives from a number of UK and overseas businesses and trade and industry departments.
There was a lot of interest in the Audio Enable platform, and also in its potential mobile application.
Good news all-round.
