Projects 2010 > Sculpting with Scent > Journal
Our area of the studio is a little garden of smells. Some are beautiful, others are complex, some are dull and everyday. Our job now is to sort through them and find the combinations that best create the feelings we want to evoke in Hazel’s stories.
There’s a little family of bottles that have been quarantined because they are so repugnant that we actually retched when smelling them.
After weeks of lo-fi industrial design it’s really good to be concentrating on smelling things again. I’d forgotten how powerful and evocative scent is and how direct the connection is with your brain.
